Folks,
Yesterday I wrote my blog but was unable to get it to upload. This is the text, which I saved by sending it to myself via email.
So now we're one day behind. I will play catch up tomorrow.

Nothing much clever to say about today - just Church in the morning, shopping again (ugh!) till about 4:30 and domestic issues making it so I have to cram all the recording and planning for my radio show into the last two hours of the day.
This morning I woke up with the sound of Stan Getz in my head, but it wasn't anything I could recognize, so I wrote it down. The result was a 32-bar melody for sax and rhythm I'm provisionally calling "Stand in Line for What You Gets". For all I know it's an exact duplicate of something Stan or somebody else actually wrote/played, and as it is I'm sure it's riddled with transcription errors. But I did succeed in writing it down.
Finally, my friend Keith contributed some additional thoughts about the film YEAR OF THE YAHOO! which, with his gracious permission, I'd like to quote:
"Dave - just a couple of sidelights on Year of the Yahoo. Ray Sager, who
played Sid the campaign manager, appears to be a Lewis alter-ego. He's given
violent maniacal roles in a number of films - a snotty punk rocker in For
The Hell Of It and Montag the Magnificent in Wizard of Gore. Even more
significantly, he continued Lewis' legacy in gore by becoming a major
producer of slasher film in the 80's including Bloody Valentine and the Prom
Night series. One of the few HGL alumni careers to actually go uphill.
Claude King was indeed a popular country artist - ten years prior to
Yahoo. In 1962 he hit the charts with Wolverton Mountain, filling a much
needed gap after the death of Johnny Horton. He recorded many of his own
songs. He still plays music festivals in his home state of Louisiana. His
Bear Family box set costs $170. Other acting gigs include a role in the 80s
miniseries The Blue And The Grey.
