Mrs. Lewis is not pleased that I'm on here just now, so this is a quickie-
Just got done watching a totally charming film made in 1926 by William A. Wellman, The Boob. George K. Arthur plays a helpless country sap who dons chaps and and ten-gallon hat to go chasing after bootleggers in the hopes of winning back his girl from the city slicker who has wooed her away. Arthur's character doesn't realize that the slicker is actually the chief bootlegger, and this leads to some complications. Joan Crawford has a minor part as an undercover detective, and Charlie Murray and Hank Mann provide comic relief to what is already a pretty funny comedy. I wish I knew the name of the african-american kid who plays Arthur's sidekick - it's actually a real role that's part of the story and there is no denigrating humor. The dog, though, works harder than any of the actors in the movie. If there's any reason you shouldn't miss The Boob, see it for the dog.
Keith got the CD shelf from hell up to stay this evening. Mrs. Lewis is certifiably yelling at me now, so I have to go.
