Uncle Dave Lewis lives in a hole in the back of his brain, filled with useless trivia about 78 rpm records, silent movies, unfinished symphonies, broken up punk bands from the 80s and other old stuff no one cares about. This is where he goes to let off a little steam- perhaps you will find it useful, perhaps not. Who knows?

I wrote a rather long post last night or the night before which was eaten up in the posting process. New "improvements" have been made in the Blogger program which I assume made this possible - used to be if it didn't post, then I would find it down in the editing screen below and repost. It would show up twice, but it would get there. This time it just disappeared. And I can't get it back. Bummer.

In the past two days I have written bios on Fanny Brice and Sir Harry Lauder for AMG. These haven't shown up yet, but look for them down the road. Also at the end of last week I wrote bios for Smith's Sacred Singers and Polk Miller. These are going into our forthcoming AMG Guide to Country Music. Other than that I have been attending to trifles and trivialities, and a great many 78 transfers achieved over the weekend for the June 30 "Freeform Monday Morn". But this weekend I will be going out to Winona Lake, IN and should have some stories from there worth relating (I hope).

Have a happy July 4th holiday!

Uncle Dave Lewis
