Uncle Dave Lewis lives in a hole in the back of his brain, filled with useless trivia about 78 rpm records, silent movies, unfinished symphonies, broken up punk bands from the 80s and other old stuff no one cares about. Thanks to Tex for yet another correction- "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" did not originate with Walt Kelly, although he recycled it in "Pogo." The original quotation is from George Santayana from "Life of Reason, Reason in Common Sense" (1905). Tex points out that at one point Santayana was rather widely read in America, which is not the case now. However, those who would like to probably couldn't have picked a better time to do so.
