Uncle Dave Lewis lives in a hole in the back of his brain, filled with useless trivia about 78 rpm records, silent movies, unfinished symphonies, broken up punk bands from the 80s and other old stuff no one cares about. This is where he goes to let off a little steam- perhaps you will find it useful, perhaps not. Who knows?

Today I just would like to share a link with you. I was researching the films of Man Ray today (turns out there are a great many more than I would've thought based on what I knew about 'em from books) and I ran into this fabulous site featuring artwork by Kiki of Montparnasse (1901-1953).

I had no idea that she was also a painter. Of course, the familiar images of Kiki made by the big name artists who utilized her services as a model are on the right of the page. But I was quite unprepared for the images on the left - Kiki's own work.

The carnival painting, the one with the sailor and the pencil sketch are my favorites - which ones do you like?
