Uncle Dave Lewis lives in a hole in the back of his brain, filled with useless trivia about 78 rpm records, silent movies, unfinished symphonies, broken up punk bands from the 80s and other old stuff no one cares about. This is where he goes to let off a little steam- perhaps you will find it useful, perhaps not. Who knows?

We are SO Married!

Yesterday my wife and I went to the doctor. The nurse took our pulses - she shook her head and said "you guys have the same pulse."

Later in the day Allisyn went into Kroger for a minute and I waited in the car. On the radio I listened to Dick Gephart's tearful resignation from the Democratic primary. When Allisyn came back, I said "Damn! Dick Gephart's dropped out!" Allisyn "Yeah I know. Bummer - I was going to vote for him." We are both registered as Democrats.

So was I. However, prior to this conversation we hadn't discussed the Democratic primary at all, not even once.

"Let's get rid of steroids now!"

When GWB said this, I thought "Uh oh - Genesis P-Orridge is gonna be
really pissed off."

Even more pathetic than GWB's speech was the Democratic response
afterward. Of all the syncophantic, cheesy, new agey sympathy ploys -
it was like a pep talk at a sales conference for Barnes & Noble. I
could hardly stand it.

As a registered dem, I apologize for how stupid those goons made the
party look, like "we're the Martha Stewart Tupperware party without
Martha because she's been indicted." Kerry was interviewed later,
came off a little more like the real thing - but he has an image
problem - he looks like the illegitimate offspring of Bob Clampett &
Fred Waring (with a little Eddy Howard and extra genetic mutation
thrown in.)

As to GWB's Hallmark Card-esque "speech", bear in mind that we live
in an era where people are judged by what they do, rather than what
they say, because people in authority, like George, never do what
they say. He's stirring the pot with a bunch of irrelevant issues,
hoping to divide and conquer. And if he does not succeed in dividing,
he has the means to conquer anyway. So in a way it really isn't
important what he says, because he knows that he can say it, do
nothing or the opposite, but when the rubber hits the road it's still
his way or the highway.

We ARE so screwed.
