Uncle Dave Lewis lives in a hole in the back of his brain, filled with useless trivia about 78 rpm records, silent movies, unfinished symphonies, broken up punk bands from the 80s and other old stuff no one cares about. This is where he goes to let off a little steam- perhaps you will find it useful, perhaps not. Who knows?

Addendum: One Email That Was Not Answered

I was a regular programmer on WAIF radio in Cincinnati from 1985-1991 and then again from 1998-2001, although I had contributed programming to WAIF beginning in 1978. I subsribe to an email list called "WAIFprogs" which is a mailing list for WAIF programmers past and present. Recently I found reason to write this letter:

Can I Go Home Now?

I signed on to monitor this list because as a WAIF programmer of
18 years over time and as an ex-board member I thought it would be
nice to keep up with all the WAIF action. But over time all I'm
getting is the happy hemptress shooting off her mouth, you guys
beating up on my good friend cynthia dye and a bunch of other
worthless crap I don't need in my life.

I am glad that you finally got out of that rathole that was the
(Hotel) Alms. And I still believe in WAIF, although I also believe you
should never have dumped Art Damage (the program I started in 1985-ud).
Now there's all this cool stuff within the local scene which came about
because of Art Damage that you're missing, and no one tunes you in for that anymore, except for on Cynthia's show. I know she's big and bad enough to take care of herself, but dammit you guys should leave her alone. She's a great
volunteer and you're sweating her about semantics. You guys argue
against crap you put up yourselves and forget about. Must be
something in the weed the hemptress is selling.

Offlist I got a thank you from Cynthia and this quickie from Uncle Ron, former
Art Damage co-host:

WAIF = We Are Incendiary Farts

But the only answer I got ON the list was this:

"High Folks,

Lynne Wilson, The Happy Hemptress, is making a guest co-host appearance on "The Healthy Planet" Radio Show, this Saturday, February 21st, at 'High Noon'. Tune to WAIF 88.3 fm in Cincinnati to hear about the issue of Medical Marijuana. Healthy Planet is on at Noon on the 3rd Saturday of every month on the rotating show, Queen City Soapbox" etc.

You know I never knew any potheads who were so paranoid that they were borderline psychotic - until I met Lynne. Well, I'm glad that her show is on the air and mine is not, if that's the kind of crap WAIF thinks is "in the public interest."
