Uncle Dave Lewis lives in a hole in the back of his brain, filled with useless trivia about 78 rpm records, silent movies, unfinished symphonies, broken up punk bands from the 80s and other old stuff no one cares about. This is where he goes to let off a little steam- perhaps you will find it useful, perhaps not. Who knows?

Basketbrawl

Ok now - I'm sick of it. I live right outside Detroit, so on TV I've seen nothing but the now-famous Friday night massacre down at the Pistons-Pacers game over and over and over again for days. I understand that it's much the same elsewhere in the country.

I know - the election's over and Scott Peterson's trial has moved on to the penalty phase. So this has become the top story everywhere. Personally I could care less. Since Scott Peterson's not going to get the death penalty, let's give it to the offending players by barring them forever and fine the teams out of existence, so we can get on with our lives.

Show Thursday - Moving Slow

Thanksgiving morning from 6am to 9am I will be on WCBN doing radio. Planning for the show is moving very slowly, and there are a number of things I'm not turning up around here which I would've liked to have programmed. Some are just so buried in storage I can't get at them, but others have been sold off and are no longer accessible to me at all.

The only thing I'm sure of at this point is that the featured classical work will be the "Indian Fantasy" of Busoni, which definitely works for Thanksgiving, and that in the last half hour I will be playing some Latin music of Noro Morales. Tune in, anytime, to www.wcbn.org between 6 and 9 am ET to find out what I end up playing.

Many of you will be sleeping. That's what I would be doing if I weren't doing radio.
