Uncle Dave Lewis lives in a hole in the back of his brain, filled with useless trivia about 78 rpm records, silent movies, unfinished symphonies, broken up punk bands from the 80s and other old stuff no one cares about. This is where he goes to let off a little steam- perhaps you will find it useful, perhaps not. Who knows?

First Uncle Dave Show of '05 Coming Up This Thursday

Be sure to tune into www.wcbn.org or, if in the YpsiArbor corridor, to WCBN 88.3 FM
this Thursday January 6th at 6am ET.

The evil plan this time will touch upon works of Telemann, Debussy, Gershwin and Satie in
the classical section, and a transitory section dealing with horrendous opera singing and silly
classical music humor. Then, after a brace of vintage 20s dance orchestras, we will conclude
with a mini-tribute to clarinetist and bandleader Artie Shaw, who died December 26 at the
age of 94.

Here, as usual, is the timings

EST 6:00 AM-9:00 AM Thursday
CST 5:00 AM-8:00 AM Thursday
MST 4:00 AM-7:00 AM Thursday
PST 3:00 AM-6:00 AM Thursday

Europe 12:00 PM-3:00 PM Thursday
Taiwan 6:00 PM-9:00 PM Friday

Some Corrections/Concessions to the Last Blog

1. I have been informed repeatedly that anything Olsen would have to say about Dilloway,
one way or another, is unlikely to lead to any rift in their friendship. Well, that's a very strong
freindship - my experience with fellow musicians has been quite different.

2. I did enjoy myself at the party until the fighting began to break out.

3. Some of the music was pretty good.
