Uncle Dave Lewis lives in a hole in the back of his brain, filled with useless trivia about 78 rpm records, silent movies, unfinished symphonies, broken up punk bands from the 80s and other old stuff no one cares about. This is where he goes to let off a little steam- perhaps you will find it useful, perhaps not. Who knows?

I'm OK, You're OK

I got a message from my mother who was upset after reading my blog about my ear infection. I need to get on here to say that I'm alright, that my ears are back to being their usual constantly ringing selves. I can hear just fine. Thanks for asking.

I cried in my beer to an old friend in an email. She wrote back and just said hang on and wait for this accursed winter to be over. Indeed, I think we are all getting a little stir crazy up here where it is cold. It seems like it has been so cold for so long. I can tell by the crazy way people are driving and the fact that there is death on my TV every night that the people's collective cheese is sliding off their crackers.

I'm trying to figure out what I do on my show. I know ity will be a cold weather theme for the first half, transit through the next half hour and conclude with a tribute to the great Martin Denny, who died about 10 days ago at the age of 94. It's just a matter of digging out the pad, finding the records, working out timings - I just don't think I have it in me. The hours slip by. Nothing interesting is going on in my head, I don't feel like reading, and the TV is blaring away so music is out of the question. Just want this winter to be over.
